Justin’s path to financial advising is anything but typical. A former CPA, professional investor, and entrepreneur, he brings a well-rounded perspective shaped by both Wall Street and real-world business ownership.
He began his career at Freestone Capital Management, where he became a Partner and Portfolio Manager, developing deep market expertise and a disciplined focus on managing risk. Later, Justin stepped away to build his own gym business, which he successfully grew and sold. Along the way, he experienced the challenge many professionals face—balancing a demanding career, family life, and personal finances.
That experience ultimately led him to Opal, where he now helps clients take control of their financial lives so they can spend more time on what matters most.
Originally from Honolulu, Justin graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a BBA in Accountancy and Japanese and holds the CAIA designation. He lives in Seattle with his wife and two teenage boys and enjoys traveling, basketball, golf, and staying active.
